Exposure to asbestos may lead Minnesota residents to file a claim

Lung cancer is a serious and sometimes fatal illness that can strike many individuals across the country, including in Minnesota. This illness can develop for many different reasons, but exposure to asbestos has been linked to causing lung cancer. If an employee was exposed to asbestos during his or her work practices and developed cancer as a result, he or she may wish to pursue legal action.

An individual in another state is currently taking such action after he was diagnosed with lung cancer. According to reports, the former worker is naming 74 defendants in his case who allegedly contributed to his cancer-causing exposure to asbestos. The man claims that he worked on several construction sites through the years, and many of the products that he used on those sites contained harmful asbestos particles.

The number of defendants in the case stem from the various companies that reportedly provided the products to the construction sites. The man claims that proper precautions were not taken to alert him to the fact that he was being exposed to the harmful substance. The claim also states that the actions were willful and disregarded the safety of other individuals.

If Minnesota residents develop lung cancer and believe that asbestos exposure is to blame, they may also wish to file a claim. Exposure to such a substance has proved to be exceedingly harmful in certain situations, and if an employer or other party fails to explain the risks, they could potentially be held liable. Gaining facts on pursuing such a case in Minnesota could help concerned individuals determine whether legal action may be right for them.
