The Annual John Slagle Memorial Golf Tournament

“All right, I’d like to welcome everybody listening in today. I hope it’s going to be a great day with the weather. When he was about 56, he started getting short of breath, and we found out that he had mesothelioma. We started having our tournament the same year John died, just kind of for fun. For the first four or five years, we did it just for fun. A friend of Ben’s came in and said, “Hey, I just heard on the radio that today is Mesothelioma Awareness Day.” And so ever since then, we’ve been doing fundraisers. Every year, the donations get a little bit higher. Sieben Alexander has been very generous. They’re always our main sponsor. We’re very appreciative of them. I mean, it is pretty special.”
